A new online startup is promising to deliver half-catheters at half the price of usual full-length catheters.
The company Half-Cath’s CEO, Richard Wang, reveals the revolutionary secret: “We buy regular sized catheters at whole sale, break them in half, and pass the savings [and jagged, rigid plastic] onto our customers.”
“Before Half-Cath I was doling out upwards of two dollars for each new catheter. Now, I spend nearly half that amount,” said customer Joel Dandy.
“We’re planning on rolling out our catheter-share program, too,” boasted Wang. “Consumers will be able to swap their used catheters through our proprietary web app for a nominal fee. Because if it’s new to them, it may as well be considered a new catheter,” said Wang.
